Pretending to Be Somebody

I have created this site for two reasons. The first one is that, being an IT professional, I want to practise new web site development techniques and offer my products and services through the Internet. The second one is that I like to share with my friends my favorite things such as aphorisms, pictures, videos, texts and interesting web sites.

Who I am

Born in 1949, Italian, I have been working as software developer and IT consultant since 1973 and have been a manager in various multi-national firms where I have worked in software development, software engineering, quality assurance, knowledge management and bid management.

I am pragmatic and much more interested in the results produced by technology in terms of user's satisfaction and social progress than in the technology itself.

I am currently a free-lance IT consultant specialized in database applications and web software development. I am mainly using ASP.NET, PHP, Joomla, SQL Server, MS Access and MySQL.

My mother tongue is Italian and I can fluently speak English, French and German. I am married, my wife is German and we have two children.

My hobbies include photography (see here), music playing, psychology, software development and collecting aphorisms and quotations (see here). I am also much interested in ethical matters and have founded a social network dedicated to rational ethics (www.eticarazionale.net -- in Italian)
